Members of the Board
The mission of the ISC's Board of Trustees is to provide advice and oversight on all matters related to the school. These include but are not limited to budgetary decisions, financial planning, strategic planning, fundraising, special events, faculty and staff compensation, and capital projects.
Board of Trustees, 2023-2024
- Sara Belkowitz, Member-at-large
Sara Belkowitz has extensive work experience in marketing and communications. Sara is currently the Director of Marketing at Tiger Fuel Company, a role she started in December 2022. Sara is a parent of an ISC alumni and a current Spanish Preschooler.
- Nick Cady, Member-at-large
Nick has been an ISC parent since 2016 and a language nerd since well before that. He believes every child should learn a foreign language, and the ISC is a wonderful place to do so. A graduate of UVA and twenty-year resident of Charlottesville, he works in biotech sales.
- Cagle Juhan, Member-at-large
Cagle is an Assistant United States Attorney for the Justice Department. He has two children that currently attend the ISC in the French program.
- Thad Glowacki, Chair
A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia School of Law, Thad is a former partner at Edgehill Endowment Partners which invests on behalf of endowments and foundations. At Edgehill he was responsible for stewarding the assets of four mission-driven non-profit institutions, including two colleges. Over the past decade, Thad has advised over 35 different Investment Committees and Boards on their investment programs for endowed assets totaling more than $4 billion. Thad also practiced corporate law in New York City for several years after starting his career as an investment banker. Thad's three children are all alumni of the ISC.
- Cliff Stains, Parent Representative
Cliff is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at UVA. His son has attended the ISC in our French program since 2019 and is currently in the 2nd grade.
- Evan Kwiatkowski, Vice Chair
Evan is a CPA and Senior Vice President with Silvercrest Asset Management Group in Charlottesville. A graduate of the University of Virginia, Evan has two children in the Spanish programs at ISC.
- Joy Miller, Secretary
Joy has been part of the ISC community for the past 6 years as a mom of 2; her daughter is an alumnus, and her son is in the Spanish JK program. Joy is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner on the Pediatric Palliative Care team at UVA Children’s. She moved to Charlottesville 14 years ago with her husband Brad to pursue a career in pediatric nursing. She completed a master's program at UVA's School of Nursing and has been practicing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for the past 10 years. Being part of the ISC community has been an incredibly uplifting experience for her children and family and she is honored to serve in this capacity.
- Taylor Odom, Member-at-large
Taylor Odom is an attorney based in Charlottesville. Taylor was born and raised in Louisiana where he began to study French. He received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and law degree from Loyola University New Orleans. Before attending law school, Taylor spent a year in Metz, France, teaching English through the Teaching Assistants Program in France (TAPIF). While in France, Taylor developed a strong appreciation for the French language and culture which has brought him back to Europe and other francophone countries over the years. Taylor met his wife, who is a Virginia native, while in law school. Taylor relocated to Charlottesville with his wife in 2013 and has been involved with the Alliance Française since becoming a Virginian.
- Emmie Wright, Member-at-large
Emmie Wright is an alumni parent, with both of her children having graduated the program. Emmie’s background is in bilingual education, and she taught high school Spanish for 15 years in independent schools in Charleston, SC, New York City, and at St. Anne’s-Belfield School in Charlottesville. She has recently started teaching again at Peabody School. Emmie speaks only Spanish with her two children at home, and believes strongly in the importance of bilingualism and language immersion from an early age. She loves the International School's community and mission, and is excited to serve.

Veronica is an alumni parent and is a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Education & Human Development at UVA.
