Debbie Jo is in her second year at the ISC after returning from a leave of absence for the past school year. Although newer to our school, she has been in school settings for almost 20 years! With a background in Spanish as her mother is from Nicaragua, she has worked as a Spanish teacher or enrichment teacher in numerous schools in the area. Many of you may also know her as a veteran swim instructor as well! Debbie Jo obtained her Bachelor Degree from Virginia Tech and also obtained a Masters of Art in Teaching from Mary Baldwin. She is excited to meet your children!
Morgan is joining the ISC with her four children who are all ISC students for her first year of teaching. She and her family have lived all across the US, traveling for the military. Morgan has taught Elementary and High School English and French in Georgia, Colorado, and Arizona. Most recently she was working in a French Immersion Program in Louisiana! received her BA in French and Master in Education from Mount Holyoke College. Morgan is very excited about being in Charlottesville and getting to know everyone at the ISC.
Norma was born and raised in Honduras. She obtained her Bachelor Degree in teaching from Pedagogic National University Francisco Morazán in San Pedro Sula. Before immigrating to the US in 2015, Norma taught for almost 20 years in many schools in Honduras, and eventually was an Assistant Principal. Upon arriving in the US, Norma's love for children turned to the private childcare sector as well as using her teaching background to tutor children in Spanish. She is excited to meet your children!
Lisa is in her third year of working at the ISC. Her daughter is a recent ISC alumni. Lisa completed her Spanish Language and Literature Studies at the University of Valencia prior to enrolling at UVA for her Bachelors of Arts Degree. Lisa is excited about working in our Junior Kindergarten class and co-teaching with Ms Norma! Before coming to the ISC, Lisa taught in the Pittsylvania and Danville Public School Systems.
